Despite plagiarism accusations on his latest smash hit, singer Primary has announced that he donated all his profit from "I Got C" to charity institutions.
A representative speaking in behalf of Primary said on November 14, "Since the beginning, it was already planned that all income acquired by 'I Got C' will be donated."
Aside from that, all income gained from the "Infinity Challenge Music Festival 2013" was donated to a scholarship foundation. "I Got C", a collaboration between Primary and Park Myung Soo, was launched as part of the said music festival.
Although it was clearly mentioned where the proceeds went, Primary already clarified that he did not receive any profit from singing and producing the song.
"I Got C", despite topping several charts in Korea upon its released, was embroiled in a plagiarism controversy after several netizens pointed out that the tune sounded like "Liquid Lunch", a song popularized by Netherlands singer Caro Emerald.
Primary denined that he ripped off "I Got C" from another artist, but still issued an apology in response to the controversy.
On November 13, online music sales for "I Got C" were drawn to a close.
