A lot of the VIP guests present at the 2013 Mnet Asian Music Awards were looking for to Big Bang’s performance the most. And home viewers share the same thoughts, as the ratings popped up the moment the boys of Big Bang went up on stage for their big performance.
The 2013 MAMA, because of the show’s long duration, was split into three parts. The second portion has the highest rating of 5.380%, followed by the third and ending part which earned a rating of 5.045%, and last was the first part with only 4.146%. According to statistics the highest 1-minute rating, which was at 6.917%, was recorded during Big Bang’s performance.
Female teenage viewers comprised majority the demographic of viewers who watch the 2013 MAMA on television. Second highest population was women in their 40’s with 4.768%, 30’s with 3.416%, and lastly those in their 20’s at 2.899%.
Over-all, this year’s MAMA scored higher ratings compared to previous editions. Ratings agency TNmS, said that the November 22 live broadcast of 2013 MAMA earned 4.872% in ratings from cable-subscribing households in Korea. The 2012 MAMA only garnered 3.547% in rating, showing a 1.325% increasing in viewership.
The results showed a collective response from viewers who watched through Mnet(1.497%), KM (0.352%), O’live (0.461%), XTM(0.735%), On Style (0.280%), tvN (0.787%) and Story on (0.760%).
