Rain, who just completed his military service this year, is facing an investigation by public prosecutors due to filing too many leaves while still on duty.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office 8, whose lead prosecutor is Kim Tae Chul, reported on November 27 that they've received a letter from a person nicknamed "A" saying, "Rain took excessive leaves while he was serving as a PR soldier. Certainly, this is a violation of army regulations." The investigation began immediately after the receipt of the letter.

Rain, or Jung Ji-hoon, enlisted in the military on October 2011 and enrolled in basic training at the 306 Reserve Army unit. Later on he was assigned to the Public Relations Support Team on February 24, 2012 where he served as a "celebrity soldier". His task basically involved doing promotions for the army.

In recall, one of his reported excessive leaves were spent going on a date with Kim Tae Hee, for which he was penalized with a week-long probation after getting caught.

One of the biggest scandals that involved Rain was when he was caught visiting a massage parlour together with celebrity soldiers SE7EN and Sangchu. The issue was bombarded with massive criticism due to the fact that celebrities may be receiving special treatment in the army. Due to this, the Ministry of Defence had to scrap the PR soldier unit.

Rain nor his agency has issued a statement regarding this matter.

In the meantime, Rain is scheduled to head for the US to film his upcoming Hollywood film "The Prince", which will also star Bruce Willis and John Cusak.
