Korean artists G-Dragon, TVXQ, and KARA have all received success in their respective debuts on the Oricon daily music charts.
G-Dragon, who recently went all out on his solo promotions in Japan this week, placed second on the Oricon Daily Music Chart after selling 34,597 copies of his "Coup D'etat" album in just one day. G-Dragon has already exceed Seungri's and Daesung's numbers. Japanese music experts are expecting G-Dragon's album sales to make the most sales among all Big Bang related albums.
TVXQ's newest holiday single "Very Merry Xmas" ranked second on the Oricon daily singles club as soon as it released on November 27. While actively doing promotions in Japan, the duo also announced that they will begin their 2014 Japan tour at the Yokohama Arena on Aprill 22 and will close at the Kyosera Dome in Osaka on June 19.
Girl group KARA, which had their last performance for their KARASIA Japan tour, reached the number 4 spot on the Oricon singles chart with the song "Fresh Kiss". Their latest album, "Best Girls", also fared well as it sat on the number 4 spot of the Oricon albums chart.
Despite the continuous success Korean artists are gaining in the Japanese charts, a controversy still brews regarding Japanese year-end music festivals and their non-inclusion of Korean artists in the official guest list.
