Fines For Celebrities Involved In Illegal Gambling Case Revealed

Earlier in November celebrities Andy, Boom, Yang Sae Hyung, Lee Soo Geun, Tak Jae Hoon, and Tony Ahn were guilty of betting huge amounts on an illegal online gambling site. Today prosecutors have revealed the official fines charged against the convicted celebrities.

TV personalities Boom, Andy, and Comedian Yang Sae Hyung have been charged with legal finals after undergoing investigations for their illegal gambling case.

The Seoul Central District Court filed fines on the abovementioned celebrities on November 28. Boom and Andy were charged fines of 5 million won ($4700) each. Yang Sae Hyung was charged with a smaller fine of 3 million won ($2800).

However Tak Jae Hoon, Lee Soo Geun, and Tony Ahn were hit with a bigger blow since they gambled much larger amounts compared to Andy, Boom, and Yang Sae Hyung.

Andy only gambled around 44 million won; Boom, 33 million won; and Yang Sae Hyung, 26 million won. Lee Soo Geun on the other hand placed bets amounting to over 1 billion won; Tak Jae Hoon and Tony Ahn gambled over 400 million won. Aside from overspending, they were also charged with common practice.

The respective agencies of the celebrities involved did declared that they have not received any court order or ruling and have decided not to divulge much about the matter. The celebrities, as of now, have stepped down from their respective shows and activities to reflect on the incident for which they regret deeply.

Tak Jae Hoon, Lee Soo Geun, and Tony Ahn's first trial will take place on December 6 at the Seoul Central District Court.
