Prison Sentence Awaits Perpetrator Behind Kang Min Kyung's Photoshopped Scandal

The judges have issued a 6-month prison sentence for two netizens charged with defamation for maliciously editing Kang Min Kyung's photo.

The perpetrators behind the photoshopped picture of Davichi's Kang Min Kyung together with a sponsor has been caught and given a prison sentence.

Two netizens were charged with defamation and sentence to six months in prison, together with two years of probation and 80 hours of community service.

The prosecutors issued the ruling despite the suspects claiming in defence, "You can't tell if it's Kang Min Kyung. Their profile is just similar," and "Their faces may be similar, but it could be someone else. So don't believe it."

The judges commented, "It is a significant crime that could have grave effects on Miss Kang's image as she is in the middle of broadcast activities," the judges continued, "Celebrities put in a lot of effort to maintain their public image, and when others come in to damage it through illegal methods, it could have a potentially huge effect. Not just on their careers, but psychologically as well."
