K-pop has been truly dominating the world music scene. G-Dragon and SHINee was hailed as the "World Album Artists" for 2013 Billboard Year-end Charts.

G-Dragon and SHINee was hailed as the "World Album Artists" for 2013 Billboard Year-end Charts.

With regards to the award, YG Entertainment said, "It is the first time Korean artists has ranked on Billboard's annual charts," making a definition to a cultural history. 

It was just this September when G-Dragon came out with his solo album, "Coup d'Etat," showing a variety of genres from soft ballad to hip hop to the world. Because of the album's released, it resulted in total control of the K-Pop charts, along with great spread of popularity overseas. The other awards that G-Dragon won was the Male Artist award at the 2013 MAMA. 

SHINee surprisingly had a busy year having three Korean albums released this year, along with singles and a Japanese album which also has ranked on top of charts. Just recently when the group won the Male Group Dance Performance Award at the 2013 MAMA.

With this kind of international acknowledgement, BIGBANG's G-Dragon and SHINee remains to be dominate the world, proving that K-pop is now well-known in the world.
