Nicole Opens Up About Leaving KARA

In a recent interview with Sports Chosun, now former member of KARA, Nicole Jung, shared her sentiments about leaving the group she's been with since 2007.

In a recent interview with Sports Chosun, now former member of KARA, Nicole Jung, shared her sentiments about leaving the group she's been with since 2007.

Nicole said, "I can't find words to express it. Looking back, KARA was everything to me. I first held the mic as a member of KARA when I was still in my teens. Even in my 20's I received much love as a member of KARA. During the period, I've made a lot of memories. There were a lot of happy moments-moments I'm thankful of. I started in the entertainment industry as a member of KARA and established my name because of it."

According to the singer, her planned departure only sunk in when KARA performed for the three year-end music festivals. "I told myself to calm down afterwards, but tears kept falling. I knew it [was gonna happen], but it was hard to accept."

Nicole also talked about the other members with whom she's spent the last 7-8 years of her life. "Honestly, a lot of things has happened. There were tough times, but I braved them all and was able to do a lot. Each member had an equally difficult time, emotionally and physically, but I'm thankful that we always gave each other strength. Let's continue to encourage one another to succeed."

Lastly, Nicole addressed her fans, who have been most shocked and affected by her decision to leave. "This whole time, fans have always been there to support KARA. I always felt sorry because I was lacking and undeserving of their support. Even so, they supported me so I thought I should do better. In the past, seeing my fans always made me forget all my worries and my pains. That made me think that this is why I like singing and dancing."

Nicole's contract with DSP Media expired last Thursday, January 16. She will soon leave for the United States where she will be taking vocal and dance classes.
