Super Junior's Siwon Clarifies That His New Drama Is No Remake Of "The Heirs"

Due to the misunderstanding surrounding the closely similar theme of "The Heirs" and "Billion Dollar Man", Choi Siwon clarified that both dramas are in now way related to each other.

Contrary to previous reports, it seems that Choi Siwon's upcoming Chinese drama series is not an adaptation of the hit SBS show "The Heirs".

The Super Junior member recently clarified that his Chinese drama, titled "Billion Dollar Man", may sound similar to "The Heirs". However, the storyline is entirely different and definitely not influenced in anyway by the hit Korean drama.

On his Weibo account, Siwon said, "I've heard people saying that our drama is a remake of 'The Heirs', and there are even news reports claiming it. However, the rights [for this drama] was bought earlier, and is completely different from 'The Heirs'. We hope the drama will receive more support than it is receiving now."

"Billion Dollar Man" tells the story of various characters competing against each other to earn the entitlement to a large inheritance. Director Lee Shao Hong further explained that the drama is already 2 years in the making, even before "The Heirs" began airing.

Filming for "Billion Dollar Man" just recently commenced and will star Choi Siwon, Hong Soo Ah, Yu Xiao Tong, Kang Qing Zi, and more.
