Girls’ Generation and 2NE1’s rivalry is not unheard of. Despite having completely different styles in music and concept, it cannot be denied that the two are consistently pitted against each other being that they are their companies’ representative idol groups. For one, the two groups are scheduled to make a comeback this month. But with Girls’ Generation experiencing a bit of drawback, does this mean 2NE1 would also postpone theirs?
On February 13, YG Entertainment announced that 2NE1 will be making a comeback on February 24 with their second album “CRUSH”, the same day Girls’ Generation was supposed to release “Mr. Mr.”
The delay on Girls’ Generation’s behalf has definitely crushed critics’ fantasies of a full-on girl group battle, which has been gaining a lot of interest until Girls’ Generation announced their postponement.
SM Entertainment has announced that the delay should take at most 2 weeks, putting a 10-day gap between Girls’ Generation’s comeback and 2NE1’s, thus making their ultimate showdown unlikely.
However, eyes are peeled on whether or not YG Entertainment makes the decision to postpone 2NE1’s comeback to face Girls’ Generation in perhaps the biggest girl group battle in history.
In the meantime, 2NE1 is scheduled to begin their “All or Nothing” World Tour this March 1 and 2 in Seoul.
