Super Junior’s Sungmin passed his Seoul Police special promotion unit test following the military service and him passing the test became a matter of discussion on whether he would be enlisting the military service this year, or will postpone it until next year.

The Seoul Police special promotion unit is an institution created under the supervision of the South Korean military systems. The department is usually filled by idols whose main-job is to provide public services, such as to play theatre and give educational entertainment for the community.

Sungmin's agency, SM Entertainment mentioned, “Although he did go to the auditions for this unit, he has not set anything. He might not enlist this year as well as nothing has been confirmed yet."

Together with Sungmin other idols who have been declared passed the test for the same department are Supernova’s Sungjae and actor Yoo Ah In.
