This promotional cycle, it's definitely a clash of K-pop royalties as CNBLUE, Girls' Generation, and 2NE1 race against each other on the charts.
Backstage on "M! Countdown" on February 27, rock group CNBLUE had a short interview with OSEN and discussed their thoughts on their comeback and competition against 2NE1 and Girls' Generation.
When asked about having the same album release schedule as 2NE1 and Girls' Generation, CNBLUE said, "We love both [Girls' Generation's and 2NE1's] music. It's fun promoting together with them. First off, we're [going to offer] a different genre since we're a band. But we really like listening to both group's music."
Aside from Girls' Generation and 2NE1, CNBLUE will also be clashing with another band, Nell. "It's really an honour. We've been fans of Nell for such a long time that we were really excited about their new album. Their song is so good, and we thought, 'Of course, it's Nell'. We also saw this news that Nell complimented us and we felt really honoured. We hope to become good seniors like them."
Early on, CNBLUE's "Can't Stop" has been receiving a lot of positive reviews locally and overseas. In particular, the group mentioned the Billboard article about their music, and they were hoping to receive more love like that later on.
With this much hype over their new release, a lot are betting on CNBLUE to win trophies once they begin promoting on music shows. As for their plans if they win a trophy, the group said, "We're going to release a saturi vesion of 'Can't Stop'. It's actually already finished. We can release it anytime."
They added, "While we were recording the album, we thought about recording a saturi version of the song. Even if we don't win number 1, we really want to release it."
CNBLUE also expressed that they want to do as many Korean promotions as they can. "Since it's our first comeback in over a year, we are excited to promote in Korea. In April, we will be having a concert in Seoul and Busan. Our comeback show will be on March 2, so I hope a lot of people will come and have fun with us."
