SM Entertainment's subsidiary company, SM C&C, has announced that it will produce the internationally acclaimed musical "Singin' in the Rain" this summer.
Reports say that "Singin' in the Rain" will begin its run on June 5 and will end on August 3. The show will be staged at Chugmu Art Hall, Seoul.
A representative of SM Entertainment also revealed, "Super Junior's Kyuhyun has been cast as the lead actor, while SHINee's Onew is in the talks to join the production as well."
Furthermore, it has been reported that SM Entertainment is preparing to stage an original four-part musical series, which will show at the COEX Atrium in Gangnam, Seoul. The representative said, "We signed a contract to use this theater until 2018, and the venue has already been secured... We will apply our experience in concert planning and more to show a new kind of musical."
The project will be part of SM Entertainment's multiple expansion plans. The company began the year by investing in indie label Baljunso to experiment with various other genres for K-pop.
