Ladies Code Talk About Being Compared to Wonder Girls

In a recent interview, Laides Code shared their thoughts on being compared to Wonder Girls. Ladies' Code recently sat down for an interview with Ilgan Sports where they shared their thoughts on being compared to Wonder Girls and the idea of sporting a sexy concept.

Ladies' Code recently sat down for an interview with Ilgan Sports where they shared their thoughts on being compared to Wonder Girls and the idea of sporting a sexy concept.

Ladies Code's concept for "So Wonderful" was often compared to Wonder Girls' "Nobody" concept, for making use of vintage microphone stands as main props.

Sojung said, "We feel very honored that we're even being compared [to Wonder Girls]. The Wonder Girls are our role models because they were the 'nation's girl group', and they were loved by everyone regardless of gender or age. I think the comparison was brought up because we used microphone stands on stage to create a 1980's-like atmosphere. Rather than feeling upset, we felt a strong desire to become a girl group that receives a lot of love, much like our Wonder Girls seniors."

Ladies Code and Wonder Girls member Sun maintain a close friendship. Sun previously revealed that she enjoyed listening to Ladies' Code's "Pretty Pretty" since it reminded her of Wonder Girls circa "Tell Me" and "So Hot".

The girls of Ladies Code also tackled the heated issue about sexy concepts, which a lot of girl groups and female soloists have been donning these days.

Ashley commented, "Even if we were to show a sexy image later, it wouldn't be too late, anyway. We wanted to stick with the retro and punk style we showed in our first and second albums. We think of it as Ladies' Code's identity. When we heard the music, we liked it because we thought, 'This sounds like Ladies' Code's music.'"

Eunbi also said, "If we had opted for a sexy image, would it have made an impact? More than anything, we need to prepare our hearts for it. We will try it when we've become more mature and can honestly make people say 'That's sexy!' with just our gaze and movements. For now, we will show that we can be sufficiently charming without having to go sexy."
