2NE1 and Girls' Generation are together continuing to get new achievements and getting K-pop out into the world as they get in the Billboard 200 chart defeating the previous record for a K-pop album. However, it was 2NE1 who grabbed the title of being the new record holder.
Getting in the Billboard 200 is an accomplishment as it has been known as the ultimate chart for album sales in the United States.
Girls' Generation's sub-unit, TaeTiSeo's 'Twinkle' set the record for a K-pop album by coming in at #126 on the chart in 2012. Meanwhile, Girls' Generation came in at #110 on the chart for the week ending March 2, according to Billboard.
But, it seems that 2NE1 has got their name in record as the highest charting K-pop album on the Billboard 200 as they have come in at #61.
With regards to the Billboard 200, all of 2NE1's new tracks has ranked in the top 40 on Billboard's K-Pop Hot 100 chart with "Come Back Home" at #2. They also placed at #5 with the song on the World Digital Songs chart.
Meanwhile, Girls' Generation also left their name at #5 on the K-Pop Hot 100 chart and #4 on the World Digital Songs Chart with "Mr.Mr".
There is no doubt that these two are the top two K-pop girl groups are widely known for their such great accomplishments.
