We all remember a younger Lee Joon as Rain's teenage counterpart in the internationally acclaimed "Ninja Assassin".
Now, MBLAQ's leader is back with a new movie in which he will be headlining the lead role. And in this movie, he's definitely not playing the young kid anymore.
In the psychological thriller "Rough Play", Lee Joon plays Oh Young, an actor that becomes an overnight sensation but hits rock bottom sooner than he expects it.
Looking at the recent promotional material for "Rough Play", it is easy to notice Lee Joon's evolution from his early acting days in Ninja Assassin.
Lee Joon has often received a pat on his back for his superb acting skill, which has been described as "Janus-like", an allusion to the Roman god with two faces, both looking at the past and the present. And with this current endeavour, Lee Joon portrays his role exquisitely.
"Rough Play" will be Lee Joon's third movie project to date since "Ninja Assassin".
The movie also stars Yang Dong-geun, Seo Young-hee, and Kim Hyung-jun.
"Rough Play" is confirmed to hit cinemas on October 24 and will be one of the films to be featured in the 18th Busan International Film Festival.
In this teaser trailer for "Rough Play" we see a darker yet charismatic side of Lee Joon. It gives us a glimpse of the different emotions his character consumes in the movie. Check it out!
