Recently it has been revealed the actors Yoo Ah In and Choi Jin Hyuk, and Super Junior's Sungmin were selected after applying as part of the final group of candidates up to serve in the police corps as a drafted policeman in the 47th Seoul Police Special Promotional Unit.
Some of the final selection results after physical and other examinations were have been revealed on March 17, showing that Choi Jin Hyuk passed. Though this means he will be serving as a conscripted policeman for his mandatory military service, the date of his enlistment has not been decided yet. According to his agency, Choi Jin Hyuk intends to do one or two acting projects before he enlists.
SM Entertainment also said to various local news outlets that Sungmin is still waiting for the final results.
While for Yoo Ah In, at first it was reported that the actor did not pass the final round of examinations, it has been explained by his agency that he decided not to take those examinations in the first place. Yoo Ah In was "stressed and worried" over the recent hullabaloo regarding celebrities in the military and decided to give up the possible position as a drafted policeman. His agency did not out into detail on Yoo Ah In's other plans for enlistment.
Yoo Ah In is at present busy filming his new drama, "Secret Love Affair," which had premiered. Choi Jin Hyuk is also busy filming his cable drama hit, "Emergency Couple." While, Sungmin is active as a musical actor.
