On the April 3 broadcast of JTBC's "Ssul Jeon", the panel discussed Henry's participation on MBC's "Real Men" and his difficulties adapting to the realities on the show.
Heechul said, "Henry is ignorant about the military to the point that he does not understand the concept of group punishment. Before going, he'll say to me, 'No way, hyungnim,' and then after filming, he'll say, 'Hyungnim, I don't want to go.'"
Kim Gura went on to reveal that he heard from an MBC producer that during the first recording of "Real Men", Henry called up his manager and after finishing the second recording he admitted that he couldn't do it anymore.
Heechul commented, "[Henry] says it's so hard. He says, 'Hyungnim, I really can't do this. I am a real soldier. Real soldier, real soldier.'"
Henry Lau was born and raised in Canada by Chinese parents. Since he was raised abroad, it's only natural that his knowledge about Korean military training is limited. But nevertheless, it seems like Henry is doing his best and is starting to get the hang of things. Furthermore, he is evening wowing his co-cast members with his skills, including the incident where he skillfully solved a math problem in a matter of seconds while the other cast members remained baffled. Good job, Henry!
