Yang Hyun Suk Explains Why Lee Chan Hyuk Produced Akdong Musician's Album Instead of Him

Yang Hyun Suk recently had an interview with TV Report where he explained why he Akdong Musician's Lee Chan Hyung produced their debut album "Play" instead of him.

YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk recently had an interview with TV Report where he explained why he Akdong Musician's Lee Chan Hyung produced their debut album "Play" instead of him.

Yang Hyun Suk stated, "Up to now, I was in charge of producing albums for many singers. However, Akdong Musician's was the hardest for me.  The musical genres I had mainly worked with were hip hop and R&B.  However, Akdong Musician's genre is folk.  It was a genre I have never tried before, so it was only right that they did it themselves."

He continued, "The two members of Akdong Musician debuted at an extremely young age.  This year, Chan Hyuk will be 17 and Soo Hyun will be 14.  Because they are so young, if I were to order them to do this and that, their purity could get ruined.  I decided it might actually be much more effective if the siblings personally [produced] it.  As you can see by the results, this was verified after the album came out."

However, seeing that doing choreography was a specialty of his, Yang Hyun Suk created the duo's dance moves for "200%", proving that he still supported the rookie duo as much as possible.

"Choreography is an area in which I am specialized, but Akdong Musician was unfamiliar with it.  I made it so that it could naturally match well with their song on stage," he said.

Seeing that Akdong Musician managed to put the entire album by themselves and still claim and all-kill status for it says a lot about the rookie group. Congratulations!
