Suzy joined other celebrities by helping the people who are affected by the Sewol ferry tragedy.

Gwangju-Jeonnam's Life Sharing Practice Organization's representative stated to Star News, "Suzy donated 50 million KRW ($48,000) which we sent to the Community Chest of Korea's Gwangju branch... Suzy quietly made this donation by herself from the beginning." Suzy has known made her donation last April 22 by her mom to help in any way she can in the tragic incident. When the media outlets have asked JYP Entertainment about this, they revealed that they did not know about her what she had done.

Suzy's donation is set to be used for the Sewol relief effort, and the victims and bereaved families' daily necessities being provided at the scene.
