Female idol group Spica and Girl's Day have confirmed their comeback for June and July, respectively, kicking off the summer season!
A representative from Spica's agency spoke to Star News and revealed details about the group's comeback. "[The members of Spica] have been carefully working on their new song with a target release date in June. It looks like the song will be out in June as expected."
Furthermore, the representative revealed that Spica will be coming out with a digital single, as a quick taste to Spica's full-length album which is expected to drop this fall.
The rep continued, "The single track is a combination of Spica's vocal and performing skills. There will certainly be changes to their current sound,"
Spica made a comeback earlier this year with the retro-inspired track "You Don't Love Me", which was produced by Lee Hyori herself. The song became a hit in the charts and their colorful, retro concept was well-received by many.
On the other hand, Girl's Day pushed back their comeback to July instead of June. According to Dream Tea Entertainment, although they've previously decided for a June release, they've now confirmed a delay in the comeback. However, the agency assures fans it's nothing to worry about.
A representative from Dream Tea Entertainment said, "We are hoping to give the new release a real mid-summer vibe, which is why we are now looking at an early July release [to have the material fit the season]. Furthermore, the album still needs a few finishing touches."
In January this year, Girl's Day shocked fans when they come out with a sexy image, something very different from their girly and fun concepts in the past. However, the group promised that they will not be making a comeback with a sexy concept like that in "Expectation" and "Something". To fit the feel and vibe of summer, the group's concept will be something girly and bright that will also encapsulate their light-hearted, danceable track.
