Kahi Opens Up About Dancing With BoA And Co-Creating After School

Kahi opened up about the time she used to be a back up dancer for BoA and how she contributed to the creation of her former group After School.

On the May 6 broadcast of Mnet's "Beatles Code 3D", Kahi opened up about the time she used to be a back up dancer for BoA and how she contributed to the creation of her former group After School.

The show unearthed several past photos of Kahi performing as one of BoA's back up dancers. Kahi, acting rather embarrassed, commented, "I think I was about 23 years old then. I was ugly."

She continued, "I became known as 'BoA's dancer' when I performed on stage with BoA. While BoA was preparing for her 'Valenti' stage, the Japanese dancers were teaching Korean dancers the routine, but they were lacking one Korean dancer. Hence, they called me and asked me to come over and help with practice because they needed more people. I ended up working with BoA for three years."

Kahi also discussed her part in the creation of Pledis Entertainment girl group After School. On the show, MC Shin Dong Yup asked, "I heard that you and your CEO worked really hard together to create After School."

She shared, "While I was promoting in [my previous group] S-Blush, Bekah was still a trainee. Bekah was so sexy that the CEO strongly recommended her and brought her from Hawaii. Afterwards, we were introduce to Jung Ah, and we later chose her to be part of the team. Then we gathered Jooyeon and Soyoung, making up five members."

Shin Dong Yup asked, "Were you so affectionate that you made them assemble in the bathroom for important meetings?" to which Kahi answered, "No.  Rather, I'm the type who says what I need to right then before going to the bathroom to think, 'Was I too harsh?' and cry."

Kahi graduated from After School after five years with the group. She later on pursued a solo singing and acting career. She has since released two mini albums namely "Come Back, You Bad Person" and "Who Are You?"
