JYJ's Junsu is the Lead Actor for the Musical "Dracula"

JYJ‘s Kim Junsu, who has starred in last year’s “Elisabeth” is set to return on the theatre as the singer and musical actor this July as he plays the lead star in the local production of “Dracula.” spoke in an interview with a representative from the production which revealed that Junsu has decided on performing in the musical and details with regards to the production is in discussion.

C-JeS Entertainment, Junsu's agency, has confirmed the news by stating, “He received the offer to appear in the musical ‘Dracula’ and we are currently examining the material positively.”

Junsu will be having the role of “Count Dracula” who has adored only one woman for a thousand years. His character will have the pain and sadness of unrequited love. The two are destined to be star-crossed lovers, with Count Dracula bound to live forever, he protects his loved one from dying and is conflicted with his thirst for blood.

The musical will be produced by Shin Choon Soo and directed by David Swan. It is from the gothic novel of the same title by Bram Stoker. The musical “Dracula” had its world premiere in 2001 at the La Jolla Playhouse and made its way to Broadway by 2004.

It has been renowned and was shown in theatres in Sweden, Austria, England, Canada, and Japan.

Meanwhile, the local production of “Dracula” is set to begin this July at the Seoul Arts Center’s Opera Theater.
