Song Seung Heon Dishes Out His Thoughts On Marriage and His Movie "Obsessed"

With the upcoming premiere of his movie "Obsessed", top actor Song Seung Heon recently sat down for an interview where he shared his thoughts about the movie and marriage.

With the upcoming premiere of his movie "Obsessed", top actor Song Seung Heon recently sat down for an interview where he shared his thoughts about the movie and marriage.

In "Obsessed", Song Seung Heon plays the role of Colonel Kim Jin Pyeong, a guy who falls in love at first sight with his subordinate's wife. In relation to his role, Song Seung Heon said that playing the role of a married man entering an affair was a huge personal challenge for him, and eventually changed his personal thoughts towards marriage.

Song Seung Heon said, "Through the movie, I managed to gain the confidence that an actor should have, and also the thought that marriage is getting increasingly difficult for me. I suddenly have the idea that what happened in the movie could also happen to me in real life. What if I get to marry someone whom I thought was the only one for me, and then it turns out I fall in love with another woman later on. How would I deal with such situation? That isn't something that's completely impossible."

"I've had relationship wherein I think that this woman would be the one I would marry later on. But as I get older and hearing stories from friends who are married, I realized that my fantasy [of a perfect marriage] has vanished. In particular, attending wedding ceremonies of other people is quickly becoming just a regular thing to me, and my fantasies [about marriage] have all gone."

"My siblings are all married, so my family doesn't force me to get married. But I am at the prime age for marriage, so I do have the thought of getting married all of a sudden. I also wish to have an adorably baby of my own. When I see my friends' kids, this desire to get married just gets stronger."

"Obsessed" is a movie that is set in the last stages of the Vietnam War period in 1969. It centers on the secret relationship that transpired between a colonel and his subordinate's wife while living in a regimental military housing complex. The movie will premiere in South Korea on May 15.
