Singer MC Mong will be making his much-anticipated return to the music industry after a four-year hiatus. Rumours about MC Mong meeting up with several industry official have been making its way to the public since last month. Just recently, it has been revealed that MC Mong has signed an exclusive contract with Wellmade Yedang. Furthermore, his new album is scheduled to be out at the end of this year.
Although MC Mong has signed an exclusive contract with Wellmade Yedang, making him Girl's Day's newest label mate, his comeback will be handled by DreamT Entertainment. To avoid confusion, DreamT Entertainment was bought by Wellmade Yedang six months ago so basically his activities will still be under one company.
A music industry insider said, "After signing an exclusive contract, MC Mong and Wellmade Yedang went into discussions over several matters, thus he hasn't officially begun preparing for his album. His return will not take place immediately, but will take some time. He is largely supported by his celebrity friends, and he wants to become a source of strength for everyone."
In 2010, MC Mong was involved in a huge controversy after he was accused of intentionally delaying his military enlistment several times. Because of this, MC Mong faced a series of trials, after which he quietly withdrew stepped down from the limelight. It was also reported that MC Mong suffered anxiety and depression following the incident.
Another separate source said, "MC Mong was supposed to release an album under his previous agency, but had to halt preparations due to his military evasion scandal. To help him start anew, the agency helped solved his problems since MC Mong went through a very difficult time then."
If the album pushes through, this will be MC Mong's first release in five years. His last album was "Humaninal" in 2009.
