In line with the reports about Kris' lawsuit against SM Entertainment, it is currently rumoured that another rising idol group is preparing a lawsuit against their own label.

According to news outlet Segye Ilbo, an idol group that is currently gaining a lot of attention as a new generation idol group is preparing to file a lawsuit against their current level, seeking to have their contracts terminated. The members have reportedly chosen a lawyer to represent them, and this, however, allegedly cost the members a lot of money.

The most focal complain from the group is that proper and equal distribution of pay. The group has reportedly done multiple concerts in Korea and overseas, but they have not been paid accordingly. However, in the agency's defence, they do not know how to deal with the issue yet because they reportedly invested a lot of money on the group and their activities, and there was not much profit gained.

In some contracts for idol groups, labels oftentimes take the profit and distribute it later. But in this case, the label emphasized that the expensive promotional activities and projects did not equate into any profit, thus the difficult in shelling out salaries.

The lawsuit is somewhat different with that of Kris'. Although Kris also mentioned that he was "struggling financially" despite EXO's success and the severe amount of pressure the group was put in, his main concern was that his "basic human right to freedom was violated because SM Entertainment one-sidedly decided his schedule and activities, without any concern for his opinion or health." In line with this, it was later revealed that Kris may be suffering from a suspected heart condition called myocarditis.

Several lawsuits of the same nature have been raised by idols in the past, the most sensational being JYJ's and Super Junior's Hangeng's complaints against SM Entertainment, which later led to their ultimate departure from the agency.
