Kim Tae Hee Confirmed For 40-Episode Chinese Drama Series

Kim Tae Hee has been confirmed to star in the upcoming drama series "Wang Xi Zhi". In a previous report, it was revealed that Kim Tae Hee has been rumoured to appear in an upcoming Chinese TV series.

In a previous report, it was revealed that Kim Tae Hee has been rumoured to appear in an upcoming Chinese TV series. The rep said, "It is true she received a casting offer to be in Chinese historical drama 'Wang Xi Zhi.'  We are reviewing it very positively.  Until the Chinese production company makes a final decision, nothing is for sure.  We plan on reflecting the viewpoints of China's side as best as possible.  We also think this would be a good opportunity for Kim Tae Hee."

However, this time Kim Tae Hee's management agency, Lua Entertainment, finally confirmed that she has been offered a role in the upcoming period drama titled "Wang Xi Zhi".

Following her formal acceptance of the role, Kim Tae Hee also attended the press conference for "Wang Xi Zhi" in Beijing, China, on May 29, 2014. At the press conference, Kim Tae Hee said, "I hope I could learn about Chinese culture with this opportunity. I feel honored to be in a drama that tells the story of a great man like Wang Hee Ji."

In a separate interview, a spokesperson for Lua Entertainment also shared how Kim Tae Hee has been preparing for the role. "She has already taken up Chinese lessons, as well as a calligraphy course. In addition, she is reading up on the history of the main character, the rep said.

"Wang Xi Zhi" revolves around a story based on real-life historical characters. The drama will run for 40 episodes. Kim Tae Hee will take on the role of Wang Ji Hee's wife. Kim Tae Hee's role is the straight-talking wife who will go to great lengths just to support her husband, who is a talented calligrapher. Kim Tae Hee's agency also mentioned that in some scenes, Kim Tae Hee will be dressed like a man.

This will be Kim Tae Hee's first drama series since she filmed "Jang Ok Jung" over a year ago. Kim Tae Hee recently saw her growing popularity in China, and she also recently appeared on the Chinese reality TV show, "Bringing the Stars to You".
