A Pink Explain Why They They've Never Considered Going Sexy

The girls of A Pink share they thoughts on why they kept their innocent image despite the trend of sexy girl groups.

Amidst the trend of seemingly maturing girl groups, 6-member of A Pink continues to delight many with their fresh and innocent charms.

On the June 7 episode of KBS 2TV’s “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook”, A Pink appeared as one of the special guests. In the interview portion, MC Yoo Hee Yeol asked what many people have been dying to know the answered to: why does A Pink continue to stick with their innocent image and don’t opt for a sexier vibe? A Pink leader Chorong said,

The members of A Pink have revealed the reason for not having done a sexy concept since their debut. On this, A Pink leader Chorong said, “As a woman, it’s nice to be told that you’re sexy, but we still have an underage member in our group. Our youngest, Hayoung, is only 19 years old (18 in international age). Also, we don’t really have the body figures that can be called sexy. We think it would be better to show sexiness naturally as we age older. [Since we’re still young] we haven’t thought much about doing a sexy concept yet.”

Member Eunji also said, “When we decide on a direction we’re going to take, we want to look cool instead of being sexy. Depending on age, there’s a different vibe that comes out. We want to continue doing concepts that will fit our age.”

Although they like their innocent image, some member says there’s a pressure that comes to it. They said, "We can't go to clubs because of the innocent concept we've been maintaining ever since we made our debut." Member Bomi even said, "I buy clothes that are sexy; the type that we don't usually wear. But since I can't wear it out in the open, I stand in front of the mirror to satisfy myself and then easy my sadness by taking selcas,” evoking laughter for her statement.
