SHINee’s Onew has undergone polyp surgery, which was confirmed by his agency, SM Entertainment after he complained of pain in the neck. It seems that he had a polyp growth in his neck, which was the reason for disruption of his singing activities.

SM Entertainment stated that the SHINee leader had been complaining about neck pain since February, and is as of the moment undergoing intensive treatment.

“Onew had surgery to remove the polyp approximately on June 3, he has left the hospital and is currently under treatment so he could fully recover,” stated by a representative of SM Entertainment.

It has been noticed that Onew has been absent in a number of the band’s activities, which includes a K-pop concert in Brazil, and cancelled his role in musical drama, “Singin’ in the Rain”.

Though the idol had gone his surgery, SM Entertainment has stated that Onew’s schedules with SHINee will return to normal.
