BESTie's Dahye Celebrates 21st Birthday

Dahye shared her thoughts on birthdays and growing up. BESTie member Dahye recently turned 21 years old (international age) this June 12. On this day, the idol group member shared her thoughts on her birthday.

BESTie member Dahye recently turned 21 years old (international age) this June 12. On this day, the idol group member shared her thoughts on her birthday.

While many people would tend to go out and have a huge celebration for their birthdays, Dahye revealed that she wouldn't be able to throw a grand party as she needs to participate in a recording session at her agency. However, she happily revealed that she will still be able to have a small celebration in the evening with her family.

Dahye also said that she didn't find birthdays that impactful, but she has grown more appreciative of this special day since this is her first birthday since debut and many fans have wished her a "happy birthday".

When asked about getting a year older, Dahye said, "I don't particularly hate getting older, but it is a bit scary. The more I age, the more I feel that time is going by quickly. However, I am most worried that I might just age without developing as a person to match my age." 

Dahye also revealed herself to be the most excited to enter her mid to late twenties, especially the age of 27. She hopes that by this time she would be in a more stable position in her life, with BESTie having secured a spot as one of the top artists in the music industry. By then, Dahye hopes she will be able to pursue other projects such as MC-ing, DJ-ing, and acting. "However, I want more than anything for BESTie to reach the top and be a role model for many juniors," she said.

As to what she most wanted to her during her birthday, Dahye picked "Thank you for being born" as the phrase she wanted to hear the most as well as a special "happy birthday" greeting from Yoo Jae Suk.

Dahye also talked about some of her memorable birthdays in the past. She fondly remembered celebrating her first birthday party at a hamburger restaurant when she was in fifth grade. She also remembered having been thrown a surprise party by her BESTie member when they were still trainees. The latter touched Dahye so much that it moved her to tears.
