G-Dragon Pick 1: Saint Laurent

“The “Saint Laurent Show” was held at Les Invalides, famous for being the burial site of Napoleon. We were wearing an edgy look by Saint Laurent in the front row of the show, and a lot of people photographed us. ^^

When I looked at photos online and on social networking sites, I liked that the edgy vibe stood out in a very natural setting. Moreover, it was exactly the concept and style that Taeyang and I were going for, so it felt really good.”

G-Dragon Pick 2: Chanel

“It was such an honor to meet Karl Lagerfeld, a designer that we really look up to.

While the brand “Chanel” often brings to mind a refined and classy suit, we wanted to portray our own punky style. I wore ripped jeans, a bold necklace, and fur hat, while Taeyang went with chains.

Also, we were invited by the company to visit Gabrielle Chanel‘s old apartment, creative director Karl Lagerfeld’s office, as well as the design workshops. It was a space that gave off a sense of nobility and showed perfect harmony between Eastern and Western influences. We even met Chanel model Soo Joo at the apartment, which made the experience that much better. ^^”

“Rick Owens’ show, which was held in the Palais de Chaillot, with a great view of the Eiffel Tower, had a very powerful impact.

We wanted to portray Rick Owens’ classic modernistic look, with an avant garde vibe. I went with a look that I always like: a knit top and leather pants, and G-Dragon a Rick Owens jacket, shirt, wide-brimmed hat, and cross earrings, bringing out his own identity.

Taeyang’s Pick 2: JUUN.J

“Designer Jung Wook Joon‘s brand, JUUN.J. Whenever I see a JUUN.J show, I always feel a sense of pride. We actually often like to wear JUUN.J stuff, so we really know how great the clothes are.

This time, G-Dragon and I went in all-white JUUN.J outfits. Because we were in full white sitting in the front row, a lot of people were focused on us, half of their own free will, and half because we just stood out so much. It was an experience really different from when we’re on stage.”
