Looks like there's good news in store for Gong Hyo Jin fans. The actress, who was involved in a vehicular accident last week, is on the road to recovery and will resume filming for her upcoming drama series "It's Okay, It's Love" very soon.
According to SOOP Entertainment, Gong Hyo Jin's agency, the actress will be heading to Japan on June 25 to join the rest of the cast and crew of "It's Okay, It's Love" who already went there ahead to film the drama. SOOP Entertainment stated, "The location for the shoot was planned long before so it's impossible to push things back. But because of Gong Hyo Jin's injury, there will be several modifications to the script. Gong Hyo Jin is currently focusing on resting so that she can recover quickly."
Gong Hyo Jin's agency SOOP Entertainment revealed on June 19 that the actress was recently involved in a car accident, during which she sustained injuries.
A rep of SOOP Entertainment told TV Report on June 19, "At 1:10 AM today, Gong Hyo Jin was on her way to Seoul in a car after wrapping up filming for her drama when she was involved in a car accident on the highway and is currently receiving treatment."
Prior to the accident, Gong Hyo Jin had been filming her new SBS drama series "It's Okay, That's Love" in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do. She was in a van together with her manager and stylist when the accident occurred. What happened was that the actress' van and another truck bumped into each other. When they stopped on the highway, another truck collided with the actress' van.
The rep said, "Gong Hyo Jin sustained slight injuries on her forehead and face, but thankfully, the injuries are minor considering the details of the accident. Currently, she and the staff members are being examined. The exact situation will be known only after the results of the investigation, but she will probably be able to start filming again after resting for a few days. The drama's first episode is planned for the end of July, so this won't affect the broadcasting schedule."
Get well soon, Gong Hyo Jin!
