KARA's Gyuri Talks About Her Ideal Type, Finding Success, and More

KARA's leader, Park Gyuri, recently starred in a photo shoot for @star1 magazine. In the interview for the magazine, Gyuri also talked about her ideal type, how she deals with stress, and her plans for the future.

When asked if she expected KARA to become such a huge hit in Japan, Gyuri said, "I honestly had no idea. It was only through the press and media coverage later on that we found out a bit about the success we've found. I think at the time, we just had this mindset of working hard before hitting the stage. That's why we also gave our best in every performance.

Gyuri also gushed about her ideal type, saying, "My ideal type has always been the same ever since I was younger. It's actor Jung Jae Young. He's manly-he has this macho charm-but he still has this funny image. He looks like he's someone who would offer a hug when I'm having a rough time. To be honest, my father is my ideal type and [Jung Jae Young] fits the bill and seems very similar to him."

Being the leader of one of the most famous girl groups in K-pop, stress is inevitable for Gyuri. On how she relieves her stress, Gyuri said, "I meet up with my close friends and we drink beer by the river. We listen to some music; drink some beer, and just talk. If I don't chance upon hanging out with my friends, I watch a movie at home or even go to an Indie movie theatre."

As for her future plans, Gyuri shared, "There are still a lot of things I wanna do. I recently had a period of break, and I took a variety of lessons to make up for my shortcomings. Because I'm still in my 20's, I have a lot of desire to accomplish many things, whether it be singing, acting, or other activities. Personally, I'm happiest when I'm working. When my breaks are too long, I end up becoming a bit depressed. I still have a fervent desire to work."
