Super Junior member Ryeowook was one perhaps the first idol to publicly comment on "Show! Music Core's" decision to take action against lip-synced performances on the show. The singer pointed out that reformatting the program in such a way without fulfilling improvements on "Music Core's" end is not fair to artists.

In his latest interview with Munhwa Ilbo, "Music Core" CP Park Hyun Suk said, "We will not allow people who are not equipped with the basics as a singer to perform on stage. Even if one's individual part is short, that is fine. The singers who perform on stage must sing." He added that while MR is supposed to contain just the chorus and a few lines, most of the MR tracks that go on the show contain 80-90% of the vocals recorded. The CP expressed that he understood that it was difficult for artists to balance singing and dancing at the same time, and that idols are not expected to sing 100% of their songs live. However, he said that he felt the need to have at least 50% of vocals performed live.

In response to this move, Ryeowook took to Twitter and said, "To singers, brilliant stages and lights are just as important as sound systems are.. It's true that performance-centric idol singers just lip-syncing is a problem as well, but I think it's tyranny to emphasize just live performances without any improvement." Although he didn't expressly say that he's referring to "Music Core", it can be presumed as so.
