Shinhwa Company, which is Shinhwa's enterprise, had its name change to ShinCom Entertainment.
Shinhwa Company is continuing in legal dispute with Joon Media, with regards to the trademark of the group, which they appealed for cancellation of the trade name as well as failing to give profits of the concerts.
Joon Media has the rights over the name "Shinhwa," which was given by SM Entertainment, making the name limited to release albums and concerts in Korea. ShinCom has won the case over the trademark, however, due to an appeal, they have lost a part.
To solve the problems with the trade name, ShinCom discontinued using the name "Shinhwa" in the albums and only released it containing their logo, which will continue in the suceeding albums as well.
The entertainment label stated, "Since we have an ongoing suit with Joon Media, we changed our name from Shinhwa Company to ShinCom Entertainment to prevent even the smallest problem. We believe Shinhwa is not a trademark, but a name that the 6 members and fans have protected for the past 16 years. ShinCom Entertainment will do our best to protect the name Shinhwa. Please keep watching over us."
