Kara's Seungyeon Revealed that She Ranked Number 1 While Attending High School in America

In "1 vs 100" Seungyeon admitted that she did perform well while attending high school in the United States, although she almost admitted to be really shy when it comes to the topic.

Kara member Seungyeon recently made a guest appearance on the October 15 broadcast of KBS 2TV's "1 vs 100" wherein she shared her past experiences of studying in a reportedly renowned High School in the US.

Seungyeon said, "I'm embarrassed to call it a renowned high school. It was a national school and coincidentally, its ranking went up at the same time I was attending." She also explained why she did not graduate from the said American high school, citing that she already audition to become an idol and was later told to return to Korea to begin her training.

On the show, Sungyeon also confirmed rumours that she was a straight A student at the said high school. When asked about it, the "Mister" singer blushed and said it felt embarrassing for her to admit that she was, but she eventually she did and said, "The highest ranking I achieved was number one."

The Kara singer attended Tenafly High School in Tenafly, New Jersey for about 2 years. Around the time Sungyeon attended her high school it ranked as one of the top performing schools in the United States and even received the Blue Ribbon School Award, a distinction given to schools that have contributed significant developments to closing the achievement gap in schools wherein 40% of their population is classified as disadvantaged.
