Goo Hye Sun Shares Her Thoughts About Family Relationships at "Daughter" Press Conference

With family is the prominent theme of her upcoming movie, Goo Hye Sun talked about his thoughts on family at the said press conference.

Goo Hye Sun was in attendance at the press conference for her upcoming movie "Daughter" which she wrote, directed, and starred in. The press conference was held on October 31 at the CGV.

"Daughter" revolves around the complicated relationship mother-daughter relationship where in the mother (played by Shim Hye Jin) desperately holds on to her daughter (Goo Hye Sun) who only wants to step out of her mother's shadow.

With family is the prominent theme of the movie, Goo Hye Sun talked about his thoughts on family at the said press conference.

Goo Hye Sun shared that throughout the making of "Daughter" she always thought about what goes into a complicated family relationship. "You love them, but then things get hard. I have hopes that somehow their relationship would improve. I hope that a lot of people get to see the movie, and that they talk about it, too," Goo Hye Sun shared. She also commented that perhaps of the films emotions, many of the viewers will also curse as much as the mother character in the film.

Actress Shim Hye Jin, who stars as Goo Hye Sun's mother in "Daughter", complimented the young actress' performance in the film. "The rollercoaster of feelings in Director Goo Hye Sun's film were executed so well. It wasn't a burden to act at all. Director Goo Hye Sun is an actor, but she allowed a lot of parts for acting and she was very considerate. When it comes to acting, I am Goo Hye Sun's senior, but I respected all of her opinions. It's because she knows best since she wrote the script herself."

"Daughter" is Goo Hye Sun's third full-length movie as a director. She made her first directorial debut in 2010 with the movie "Magic"

The movie first screened at the 19th Busan International Film Festival. The theatrical release for "Daughter" will be on November 6.
