The Ark member Yuna Kim spoke to Star News about the reason behind her departure from YG Entertainment and her consequent entry into The Ark.
Very humbly, Yuna Kim admitted that she left YG Entertainment because she didn't feel up to par in terms of skill compared to the other trainees in the agency. YG Entertainment announced Yuna Kim's exit from the agency in 2013 as she decided to pursue her studies first.
"At the time, I felt that I wasn't internally ready, nor did I feel ready in terms of singing and dancing. I felt very incompetent. All I had was talent. There were so many skilled trainees under YG Entertainment and the competition was intense. I realized then what I was lacking in. It made me wonder if singing was indeed that right path for me to take. So, right then, I decided that I should just continue with school," Yuna Kim said.
It would later be reported that Yuna Kim had return to Korea to pursue her dreams of becoming a singer once again.
Yuna Kim explained, "I really intended to go back to my studies. I didn't think I would ever pursue singing again." But the CEO of Agency MusicK Entertainment, Yuna Kim's current agency, encouraged her to give it another try. "During our meeting in Korea, he asked me to try and I didn't do so bad. He gave me encouragement and said, 'I think you will do well.' That's how I managed to bounce back and become a singer. I'm absolutely grateful," Yuna Kim said.
Yuna Kim is now a member of The Ark, which just recently debuted with the track "The Light".
