Among the numerous dating rumors involving the members of Big Bang, one guy has stepped onto the plate to confirm that he is indeed in a happy, romantic relationship. Congratulations are in order for Taeyang and actress Min Hyo Rin, Korea's new celebrity power couple.
YG Entertainment's very own Yang Hyun Suk confirmed the news himself in an interview with Daily Sports, "Taeyang said he's been single his entire life until now. Even fans were getting concerned about [his being a longtime 'bachelor in waiting']." Yang Hyun Suk added that he heard the good news from Taeyang's manager. As for specific details about the relationship, Yang Hyun Suk said, "I think he's currently filming ['Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook'] so I couldn't ask him about further information [about the relationship]. Nevertheless, I'm happy for the two of them."
The couple were previous caught up in dating rumors consequent to the release of Taeyang's "1AM" music video in which Min Hyo Rin also starred in. The twosome shared very intimate kissing scenes in "1AM", leading fans to believe that they are more than just MV co-stars. It seems that fans were right. The couple reportedly got together while filming "1AM" in September 2013, a year before the music video was official released. That said, Taeyang and Min Hyo Rin have been dating for two years now.
The news was also confirmed by Min Hyo Rin's agency JYP Entertainment.
Since December 2013, many witnesses claim to have seen Taeyang and Min Hyo Rin going on dates in various restaurants and cafés.
In a separate report by Yonhap News, an acquaintance of the couple claims that other idols were already aware of Taeyang and Min Hyo Rin's relationship status. One source said, "The two are seeing each other very seriously."
Fans have been nothing but supportive of Taeyang and Min Hyo Rin, even more so because Min Hyo Rin is Taeyang's first ever girlfriend, and this is his first ever relationship.
