With the "Maze Runner" sequel "Scorch Trials" coming up, the probability of Hollywood star Ki Hong Lee making an appearance on Korean TV is highly likely. The "Scorch Trials" star was recently rumoured to guest star on the Korean variety show "Superman is Back".
The rumors first started when Ki Hong Lee uploaded on Snapchat a clip of him with Song Il Kook's triplets Dae Han, Man Se, and Min Kuk. It was posted on September 4, just a few days before "Scorch Trials" hits theatres in South Korea on September 18.
While fans are excited to see Ki Hong Lee go back to his Korean roots, his representative cleared out the rumors and confirmed they weren't at all true. "Ki Hong Lee is a fan of KBS 2TV's 'Superman is Back', so while he was on schedule [promoting] the movie 'Maze Runner: Scorch Trials', he met [Song Il Kook's] triplets through a friend. Ki Hong Lee spent some quality time with the triplets. But he is not appearing on the show."
The producer of "Superman is Back" also said, "We were not filming at the time. They met in private through acquaintances."
In related news, Ki Hong Lee was recently in South Korea to promote "The Scorch Trials", the sequel to the 2014 book-to-movie hit "The Maze Runner". He was joined by his co-star Thomas Brodie-Sangster who plays Newt in the films.
In the movies Ki Hong Lee plays Minho, one of the prominent figures in the book.
