As previously reported, rapper Beenzino has become the current hot topic due to plagiarism accusations against his latest track "Dali, Van, Picasso".
Beenzino's agency, Illionaire Records, has released an official statement regarding the issue. "When we were in the process of recording Benzino's 'Dali, Van, Picassor', we weren't able to check if the track used a sampling or not. We didn't know about the issue before the claims went up online."
In addition, the representative said, "After verifying it, we contact the copyright holder of the original song, which was 'Alone Together' by Chet Baker. We plan to clear things up by obtaining a sample clearance... We will clear this up as soon as possible and will announce the results once finalised. We apologize for having fans worry."
According to netizens, Beenzino's "Dali, Van, Picasso" sounded closely similar to German rapper Fiva MC's "Süd Sehen", which used a sample of Chet Baker's "Alone Together" on the intro.
