For the third season of "K-Pop Star", singer BoA, who represented SM Entertainment, was pulled out of the show and was replaced by Yoo Hee Yeol of Antenna Music. In the latest episode of JTBC's "Ssul Jeon", Super Junior's Heechul got to the bottom of why SM Entertainment does not participate in talent search programs anymore.

Host Heo Ji Woong asked Heechul if he knew the reason behind SM Entertainment's withdrawal from the third season of "K-Pop Star", saying, "There are rumours that if they don't come to terms with the training methods of SM, it gets harder to work together."

Heechul replied, "Like I said before, when SM produces dramas, they want to take care of their talents," which also explains SM's tendency to cast stars managed by the agency.

"In the same sense, SM Entertainment has this sense of duty wherein they feel the need to take responsibility for their trainees," Heechul said. SM Entertainment watches over their trainees very careful, which perhaps explains why none of the participants on "K-Pop Star" were signed by SM.

With the growing controversy pertaining to the question of why SM did not get any of the participants on the show, Heechul said, "There was so much controversy so SM decided they should no longer participate in the show this time around."
