Lay Reveals Beethoven To Be His Music Inspiration on "The Celebrity"

With heavenly voices, electric dance moves, and handsome charms, it's no wonder EXO is today's chart-topping, award-winning boy group. But behind the typical idol member persona, EXO's Lay is a serious musician at heart.

EXO's Lay is featured in the March issue of lifestyle magazine The Celebrity. For his photo shoot, Lay showcased his daily routine which mostly revolved around music. Through his photographs and interview, Lay will introduced readers to his music production process, and his collaboration with composers Maxx Song and Ahn Sung Chan.

While some idol group would name a recent Western icon as his/her musical inspiration, Lay begs to differ. "I think Beethoven is an amazing person. He's a huge inspiration on my music. I want to make the kind of music Beethoven does-the kind that moves peoples' hearts, making it a tune people will love."

Composer Maxx Song, who has worked together with EXO as a group, commented on each of the members' musical creativity and said, "Lay has a lot of interesting and good ideas. Also, he's that type that conveys a lot of emotions. Because of this, his adept at making melodies that touch the heart."
