"You Who Came from the Stars" Now Beginning to Spread Interest in Korean Culture Worldwide

Even after its finale, smash hit TV show "You Who Came From the Stars" ceaselessly earns popularity overseas.

One current events program on Chinese network CCTV features a nine-minute segment called "Professor Do, Are You From a Star?" The segment is particularly created to present news related to "You Who Came From the Stars," such as how four out of five most searched keywords on Chinese social networking sites Weibo and Baido are related to the Korean drama series, and how people are lining up for hours on end just to buy Korean magazines or Korea fried chicken.

As of March 2, statistic shows that Jun Ji Hyun is the most searched celebrity on Weibo, while Kim Soo Hyun placed 10th. Kim Soo Hyun currently holds a follower count of over 4.6 million on Weibo.

A college professor in Beijing said, "Do Min Joon from 'Man from the Stars' brought out not just the simple interest in Korea culture, but a flux of Korean culture, habits, trends, and others into Chinese society. It has surpassed the level of a simple trend."

Due to this insane popularity, "You Who Came from the Stars" has since been able to spread awareness and interest in Korean culture to all corners of the Earth.
