Sales of the 'Big Three' Agencies Have Increased Doubled Over the Last Three Years!

SM, YG and JYP gets to double their sales over the last three years! The "Big 3" companies in the Korean music industry; SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment; has been reported to have the rise in sales has gained a rapid increase for the last three years with YG having the larger increase.

The "Big 3" companies in the Korean music industry; SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment; has been reported to have the rise in sales has gained a rapid increase for the last three years with YG having the larger increase.

On April 8 the Financial Supervisory Service said SM Entertainment's sales were at 164 billion won ($156 million) in 2013, having an increase of 90.2% compared to 2010 (86.4 billion won or approximately $82 million).

While, YG sales has reached 106 billion won ($100 million) last year, getting a 135.9% increase within three years comparing it the sales in 2010 for YG, which was around 45 billion won or around $42.7 million USD. Making YG Entertainment the company with the highest increase rate out of the Big 3.

Meanwhile, JYP achieved sales of 18 billion won ($17 million) in 2013, which was approximately 7 billion won ($7 million) which is more than the 10 billion won ($10 million) they earned in 2010.

While both SM and JYP has almost doubled their sales within the last three years, YG has got to achieve and above.  Analysts believe that because of the increasing popularity of K-pop and Hallyu across Asia, Europe, and North America it has contributed to the sales of the three.
