Song Kang Ho, Kim Soo Hyun Big Winners At 50th Baeksang Arts Awards

It was a glamorous parade of stars and gathering of some of the most prominent names in the acting industry at the 50th Baeksang Arts Awards. The prestigious event, held on May 27, was hosted by Shin Dong Yup and Kim Ah Jung.

One of the big winners of the night was Song Kang Ho who is the solo “triple crown winner” of the night, bagging awards for Grand Prize, Best Film, and Best New Director. Popular heartthrob Kim Soo Hyun came in second with two awards, namely Best New Actor for “Secretly, Greatly” and Most Popular (Male). Seol Kyung Koo took home two awards as Best Leading Actor for “Wish”, which was also awarded Best Screenplay.

Other films that took home awards were “Cold Eyes,” “Elegant Lies,” “No Breathing,” and “Miss Granny.”

“You Who Came From the Stars” took home 3 awards out of 9 nominations, including Grand Prize for Jun Ji Hyun, Kim Soo Hyun for Most Popular (Male), and Lyn for Best OST.

The Best Director award went to Ahn Pan Suk and the Best Writing award to Jung Sung Joo, both from “Secret Love Affair.”

Other dramas and shows that were recognized were “Good Doctor,” “The Its Know,” “Grandpas Over Flowers,” “Jeong Do Jeon,” “I Hear Your Voice,” “Reply 1994,” “Empress Ki,” “The Heirs,” “Witch Hunt” and “Gag Concert.”
