Korean artists have been taking the Japanese charts by storm, as the albums of Girls’ Generation and JYJ has been on the Number 1 and Number 2, on the Oricon Weekly Album chart.
Girls’ Generation is now in their second weekat the top spot with their Japanese compilation album, “The Best,” which has also topped the Oricon Daily Album Chart. The album, which has hits such as “”Gee” and “Genie,” went on release on July 23. JYJ has been enjoying the success of its long-awaited comeback, “Just Us,” which dropped on July 30.
The chart company has confirmed that Girls’ Generation has achieved a level of success with fellow SM Entertainment artist, BoA, who has already spent a total of three weeks on top the Oricon charts. Girls Generation has recently spent a week at the top spot in the same chart in 2011 with its first Japanese album release.
