BoA and Father to Face Charges of Developing Land Illegally in Namyangju

BoA and her father could be fined for an illegal development of the land in the city Superstar BoA and her father, Kwon Jae Chul might be charged with a fine of $50,000 as they were reported to build a structure in a "Green Belt" land without permission in planning.

Superstar BoA and her father, Kwon Jae Chul might be charged with a fine of $50,000 as they were reported to build a structure in a "Green Belt" land without permission in planning.

The City Goverment of Namyangju has accused them of developing about 4,600 square meters of land. Rules stated that the land is ruled by special laws that is according to the “Green Belt” program. Officials say that the land is preserved for agricultural structures only.

Police charges have been filed stating that BoA  and her father have changed the existing buildings to resendential buildings, which have been the cause to cut down trees in the forested area, also committing other violations. Authorities said that BoA's father has been living in the illegal property built for about eight years.

However, Kwon Jae Chul explained the changes made in the land, “I didn’t make any major alterations. All I did was change a vinyl greenhouse into a glass greenhouse. I also made some interior alterations and put up a rain shelter.”
