Korean acts are taking over the World Billboard Chart! Just recently hip hop legend Epik High and boy band VIXX secured first and third places respectively in Billboard's world music rankings, defeating even some of the most renowned artists worldwide.
VIXX and Epik High have joined the growing list of K-Pop acts that dominated Billboard's World Album Chart.
Epik High success with their 8th album "Shoe Box" has been truly memorable and special for the boys considering that this is their first album since 2012. Although the hip hop trio have been in the industry for a long time now, this is the first time they ranked in the prestigious World Album Billboard Chart, and ranked number 1 at that.
Through their promotions for "Shoe Box", Epik High also won their first music show trophy in 6 years when they topped "M! Countdown" rankings with their title track "Happen Ending". The song itself is a winner, having topped multiple charts just shortly after its release and up to now. Although some 6 tracks on Epik High's "Shoe Box" album have been banned ("Eyes, Nose, Lips", "Life is Good", "Lesson 5", "Born Hater", "Blues Khalifa", and "Raise the Curtain") it can't be denied that Epik High's success with the album has been meteoric. This further proves Epik High's musical capacity and influence.
VIXX on the other hand showed a solid comeback with "Error". With their comeback, the members channeled a more mature and manlier image with their cyborg concept. The group also won number 1 on the October 24 broadcast of Music Bank.
VIXX is headed to the United States this November to hold concerts in Chicago and New York this November 22-23.
Moreover, fans are excitedly awaiting the second season of "VIXX TV" where fans can see a sneak peek into the members' personal lives behind the stage.
Congratulations!
