Lay Reveals He Still Keeps in Touch With Former EXO Members, Talks About Kris and Luhan's Exit

Lay sat down for an interview with China's Sohu on April 21 where he spoke about SM Entertainment and his the new studio in China, as well as keeping in touch with EXO's former members.

EXO's Lay sat down for an interview with China's Sohu on April 21 where he spoke about SM Entertainment and his the new studio in China, as well as keeping in touch with EXO's former members.

Earlier this month, SM Entertainment announced that they have established a studio in China to support Lay's Chinese activities.  According to SM Entertainment, "EXO-M member Lay will be using the workshop while he is under an exclusive contract with SM. Through this, Lay will be fully supported by the agency as he proceeds with his activities in China."

Some critics have commented that SM Entertainment's move to create an individual studio in China is an attempt to remedy the damage inflicted by Kris and Luhan's departure from the agency by protecting the interests of the agency's Chinese artists. Lay commented, "What happened in the past must have made a great impact on the agency. Whatever I decide and choose to do now will also affect the agency. I think the agency and its artists are going through a process of growth, challenges, and changes.On this, Lay revealed that the idea was first proposed by SM Entertainment. "There was trust [between SM and I]. Because of this trust I was assured that the plan would be possible. I'm very fortunate to be able to utilize SM's first studio in China. I'm thankful for all of it," Lay said.

Lay also shared that Kris and Luhan's exit from the group had an effect on the group, but the members are staying strong despite the controversies. "The members are very strong. Right now, we're holding one another's hands and marching on together. I can't say that [Kris and Luhan's departure] didn't affect us. We are affected by it. But this I want to say: we're all good. As long as everyone's alright, it's all fine."

Lay also mentioned that he still keeps in touch with Kris and Luhan. He revealed that he went out with Luhan not long ago, but their busy schedules have kept them from meeting more frequently.
